About Vedic Astrology

History

Vedic Astrology originates in India and is widely practiced today.

Vedic Astrology is based on Hindu mythology and concepts but it does not require you to be a Hindu. The stories and themes are universal. Vedic Astrology is used for guidance and not fortune telling. 

Vedic  Astrology:

12 Houses : Areas of Life

12 Zodiac Signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces

7 Planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn 

The Points: Ascendent and Rahu/Ketu

27 Nakshatras: Ashwini, Bharani, Kritika, Rohini, Mrigashira, Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya,Asleysha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Vishaka, Anuradha, Jyeshta, Mula, Purva Ashadha, Uttara Ashadha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhishak, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati 

Each planet will reside in a house, sign, and nakshatra and will also aspect other planets. This overlap will interact with the outside world through transits

All areas of life are described in the Vedic charts. Health, Marriage, Property, Spirituality, Material Wealth. The four main aims are described as

Dharma – Life Purpose

Artha- Material and wealth to sustain life

Kama – Desire

Moksha- Spiritual release

The Houses are mapped to the 4 aims of life and each house will be influenced by a sign and planet
